Cravenwood Online Prospectus

We are a brand new academy that caters for children aged 3 to 11.

We aim to prepare our learners for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life through a balanced, high quality education in a caring and stimulating environment where our school family is learning and achieving together.

Our school family is a place where every person is recognised as an individual, where voices are encouraged to be heard and ideas developed.

We are proud to be part of United Learning, a national group of academies and independent schools that aims to bring out 'the best in everyone'. Our school shares this belief that every child can thrive given the right teaching and support.

We hope you find our online prospectus helpful in informing you about our school and the learning opportunities that we offer.

Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil Premium is used to fund a range of learning experiences and interventions which contribute positively to the achievement of our children. Our Pupil Premium report provides details of our funding allocation, its use and impact.

See the report here.

Our curriculum is made up of all the activities that we plan in order to promote pupils' learning and personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal elements of learning but also the range of extra-curricular activities that the school organises in order to enrich the experiences of the children. It also includes the 'hidden curriculum', or what the children learn from the way they are treated and the behaviour expectations within the school.

We aim to teach children how to grow into positive, responsible people, who can work and co-operate with others while developing knowledge and skills, so that they achieve their true potential.

Our website curriculum pages provide details of the annual curriculum provision in each of our year groups.

Cravenwood Primary Academy is open to children from all backgrounds and of all abilities. For details of how to apply for a Nursery or School place, please view the information on our admissions.

We believe that a positive school climate will enhance teaching and learning. A positive school climate will foster co-operation, willingness and responsibility thus building a sense of community, which we call 'The School Family. The school family is held together through communicative skills which are taught during conflict moments and in the classroom through active learning lessons.

The goal of the school is to create problem solvers. If the school family fails to promote pro-social behaviour, rules and consequences are implemented to motivate children to use the socially acceptable communication skills being taught, to reduce behaviour issues and increase teaching time.

See the Behaviour Policy here.

Special Educational Needs

Cravenwood is a continuously improving primary academy with a clear approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and is supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.

As an inclusive school, special education needs and provision can be considered under four broad areas:

1) Communication and Interaction

2) Cognition and Learning

3) Social, Mental and Emotional Health

4) Sensory and/or Physical

If you have any concerns regarding the safety of a child in school or in the community, you can speak to any of the Safeguarding Officers, or any member of the school team you feel most comfortable discussing the mater with.
